"Things have their root and their branches. Affairs have their end and

"If money is your hope for independence you will never have it. The only
real security that a man will have in this world is a reserve of
knowledge, experience, and ability."

"Anyone who stops learning is old, whether twenty or eighty. Anyone who
keeps learning today is young. The greatest thing in life is to keep

of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one

curiosity."

"Intelligence makes clear to us the interrelationship of means and ends. But

emotional life of the individual, seems to me precisely the most important
function which religion has to form in the social life of man."
